Piggy Piggy 2nd wip
It's been a while since I've done an oil painting . I've almost forgotten how much fun oils are, but I did remember how I prefer to paint on gesso board rather then canvas. I still have the background, teeth, shirt, and eyes left. It's 12x12" on canvas. I'm using oils.

Trick or Treat!
...I'll take the trick!
Here is the final Sketch of my Trick or Treaters for the upcoming Creepy Eepy Show at the FOE Gallery. I found a lot of photos of Trick or Treaters from 1910 to the 1930's. Real creepy and cool! mostly because back then they made their costumes out of paper mache and things they could find.

Get Creepy Eepy!
I've busy lately trying to get ready for an upcoming show. The Opening will be on October 11th at 6pm, at the FOE Gallery in Northampton, MA. The show will be featuring TEN artists from Massachusetts and Connecticut including myself. We all delve into the dark creepy recesses of our brains to create new works based on childhood memories, mysteries, fears and Halloween. Show runs through November 3rd.
If you're interested in what I've been working on for the show, I've been posting a lot of in progress shots on Instagram and Facebook. But for those of you who aren't into Instagram or Facebook, I'll start posting some in progress shots here on the Blog.
I hope you all will be able to join me at the opening. There will be a lot of great work from some very talented artist.

Custom Munny Show
I've been meaning to post these shots for a while, but I guess it's better late then never. Back in December I took part in a custom Munny Show at the Paris in Plantsville Gallery in Plantsville CT. It was fun. I hadn't done a custom Munny before, so it was a pretty cool experience. Here are a crap-ton of shots of the sculpture, from every angle ever imagined.

Steampunk Bizarre 2

So I know I've been slacking on my post once again, but I'm trying to get back into the swing of blogging again. I'll try and catch you up on some recent work, and I'm hoping in the next few weeks to update the the over all look of The Salty Slug Blog. In the meantime, up above is one of six pieces I did for the Steampunk Bizarre 2 show. It's my version of a post apocalyptic military mech walker. I showed you it in a earlier post while I was working on it. In the next week I'll upload the rest of the work I did for that show plus some sketches, and other bits of art I've been working on.

Steampunk Sneak Peak...

Here are 2 quick shots I snapped with my cellphone this morning. This is one of my sculptures for the show. It is a Steampunk Walker that I scratch built. The legs are fully articulated, and when it's done it will have a driver and an environment. It stands about 8-9 inches tall, breathes fire, and has a bachelor degree in sports therapy. Since I'm not a "Steampunk Artist" this is my take on the genre. I was trying to go for a post apocalyptic Victorian war set in present day. I drew alot of inspiration from the movie 9, World War One photos, and of course, Tool videos. Between Carrie and I collecting junk (aka found treasures) for this show, our studio is trashed. But there is some pretty cool stuff coming out of there...at least I think so. Check back for more sneak peaks.

So come check it. In the meantime I'll be posting some sneak peaks of some of my pieces for this show. They won't be finished, so if you want to see them finish, you'll have to come to the show.
