Scalvin and Shlobbes

So I was looking at our bookshelf the other day and I decided to read one of our Calvin and Hobbes books. While I was reading it I got inspired to do my own version. So I figured Scalvin (aka Calvin) would be an old guy dressed as a young dude. As for Shlobbes (aka Hobbes) would be funnier as a Daisy Duke meets Furry. Just my quick attempt at cartooning.

It was done with ink, marker and a little bit of water color on 9x12, 150lb Bristol Paper.

The Anteater

The Ink Drawing
The Final Color Version

I haven't had much time to do a proper painting in a long time, so these little drawings will have to do in the meantime.

Custom Munny Show

I've been meaning to post these shots for a while, but I guess it's better late then never. Back in December I took part in a custom Munny Show at the Paris in Plantsville Gallery in Plantsville CT. It was fun. I hadn't done a custom Munny before, so it was a pretty cool experience. Here are a crap-ton of shots of the sculpture, from every angle ever imagined.

A quick trip to NYC

Cool wall mural.

Some gorilla dude in an abandon lot.

Brooklyn Art Library. That is a wall of sketches.

Brooklyn Art Library...again.

One of the views from the rooftop BBQ

Carrie and I went down to Williamsburg Brooklyn for a roof top BBQ at friends place. We decided to hit some galleries while we were down there. We hit the Cotton Candy Machine, Bunny Cutlet, and the Brooklyn Art Library. We saw some great work and some interesting things. Here are some of the shots that actually came out ok.
