This is the original footage that was shot. And the one below is the Universal Newsreel footage. It's Especially crazy if you listen to the way the guy talks during it in the top film. no matter how many times I see it, it still amazes me.

What's really crazy about this tragedy is that I think there were people on board the Hindenburg that actually survived the explosion/crash. I'll bet the survivors were the inspiration for the film "Unbreakable" because I don't see how any "normal" person could live through a blast like that. Although, I suppose it's possible...I once farted and produced an explosion of a similar magnitude and lived to tell about it.
Yes, I believe I heard about that. I want to thank you for sharing such a personal and traumatic experience. If you don't mind me asking how long was the recovery process? And have you stopped eating bean burritos?
The recovery process wasn't all that bad. The explosion occurred with such velocity that most of the damage took place several meters from the "point of origin". I did require 2 small skin grafts to repair gluteal skin tissue which suffered 3rd degree burns during the blast. To answer your question, I do continue to eat burritos but now I always keep a fire extinguisher and fire retardant foam close by.
