Steampunk Bizarre 2
So I know I've been slacking on my post once again, but I'm trying to get back into the swing of blogging again. I'll try and catch you up on some recent work, and I'm hoping in the next few weeks to update the the over all look of The Salty Slug Blog. In the meantime, up above is one of six pieces I did for the Steampunk Bizarre 2 show. It's my version of a post apocalyptic military mech walker. I showed you it in a earlier post while I was working on it. In the next week I'll upload the rest of the work I did for that show plus some sketches, and other bits of art I've been working on.

RE-Art 2010 Sneak Peak
Below is a sneak peak of my piece for the show. The first two are of the final piece, and the last two are the work in progress shots.
Here she is getting primed.
And here is the sculpt of the upper half of her body.
Try and come to ION in Middletown this Saturday night to see the whole thing in person.

RE-Art 2010 Opening
Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you all know about another show I'm in. It's RE-Art 2010. I was also in RE-Art 2009, at a different location last year, but none the less it was a great show with a kick-ass turn out. This year's RE-Art will be held at ION in Middletown on May 8th from 6-9pm. Come check out all the great art, and grab some great grub. I hope to see you there.

Steampunk Sneak Peak...
Here are 2 quick shots I snapped with my cellphone this morning. This is one of my sculptures for the show. It is a Steampunk Walker that I scratch built. The legs are fully articulated, and when it's done it will have a driver and an environment. It stands about 8-9 inches tall, breathes fire, and has a bachelor degree in sports therapy. Since I'm not a "Steampunk Artist" this is my take on the genre. I was trying to go for a post apocalyptic Victorian war set in present day. I drew alot of inspiration from the movie 9, World War One photos, and of course, Tool videos. Between Carrie and I collecting junk (aka found treasures) for this show, our studio is trashed. But there is some pretty cool stuff coming out of there...at least I think so. Check back for more sneak peaks.

Steampunk Bizarre 2
Come check out my newest work on Saturday July 10th 2010. I've been asked to participate along with many other talented artist in the 2nd annual Steampunk Bizarre. It should be a real cool event. So come check it. In the meantime I'll be posting some sneak peaks of some of my pieces for this show. They won't be finished, so if you want to see them finish, you'll have to come to the show.

Steampunk Concepts
So I'm going to be in a Steampunk show this July at Artspace Gallery in Hartford CT. I'm planning on trying to do some more of my sculptures. Here is a crapy cell phone shot of one of my concept drawings for a "Victorian Iron Lung" sculpture. I'll post some more stuff as it gets closer to the show.

Bohemia Show
Here is a new painting for upcoming fund raising show coming up at Alchemy Juice Bar, in Hartford. The event is happening 1/23/10. It's a can food and clothing drive. So come check it out, because this cell phone photo doesn't do this 40"x30" painting any justice, plus it is for a great cause...the homeless!
